The world’s oldest scientific journal, Philosophical Transactions, has entered its th year. To mark the occasion, the Royal Society has opened its archives to showcase some of its most ground. 1. Author(s): Johnson,Abraham,?Lucina sine concubitu. French.; Roe,Richard, active 18th to Dr. Abraham Johnson on the subject of his new scheme for the propagation of the human species. French; Royal Society (Great Britain) Title(s): Le malheur des femmes et des hommes, ou, Moyens découverts.

London, Enitharmon Press, 1 of 30 copies signed by the author. 8vo. (22 x cm), portrait frontispiece (signed and numbered) xiv + pages. Generally a fine copy, but a small mark on the front endpaper and a faint stain in the margin of page vii. As every kind of statement with regard to Lucina sine concubitu has received with so little caution and without suspicion, new observations were added to the older defective notices of this kind but these, in the same way, appeared inadmissible as soon as they were carefully analysed.
